TERMS & CONDITIONS:
By placing an order with us you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read the following carefully and contact us if you have any queries. We reserve the right to refuse any order at our discretion.
We currently only deliver to UK addresses.
PRINTING:
Delivery:
Delivery times are usually 2-5 working days for gifts and 5-10 working days for card items unless otherwise stated in the item description or by confirmation email, however during busy times this may be longer. We cannot guarantee delivery dates. You should allow 14 days for delivery on all items. Royal Mail does not consider an item to be lost until 15 working days have elapsed.
Small orders are delivered by Royal Mail. Larger orders are delivered by Parcelforce Express48 which will need to be signed for. If you require a signed-for delivery service on smaller items there will be an additional charge.
If there is a delay on your order for any reason we will inform you by email as soon as possible.
Payment:
Your order will only be processed on receipt of payment.
Prices shown are all inclusive. A receipt will be sent included with your order.
Payment may be made online through our website by PayPal or credit/debit card. Payments cannot be accepted by phone.
Cancellations or alterations to your order:
Please make sure that we receive any changes to your order as soon as possible. We aim to turn your order around quickly so may not be able to make any changes after ordering.
Proofs:
If you require a proof to show the layout of images and text on your order this will be set up and sent to you by email once payment has been received. We will make up to three proof versions at no additional charge. Proofs will not be set up until we receive your order payment.
Returns Policy:
All our printed products are ‘print on demand’, ie. they are printed to order for each individual customer.
If you send us a ‘ready to print’ document then we will print it as it is without any alterations. AlgolOnline will not be responsible for any mistakes in your original files. Please ensure that your files match our design specifications to avoid any disappointment. If colour matching is important, eg. company logo, please send a printed version to us by post in the correct colour so that we can check the colour matching.
Once you have accepted a print proof for your order you are agreeing that the proof is correct.
We check all orders before they are despatched, but if you find that there is any fault with your order due to misprinting or damage, please return the faulty order and we will reprint this for you at no extra charge. However, please note that in most cases (unless we have provided the design or images for you) we are printing the images that you have supplied to us. If the original is not of sufficient quality we cannot guarantee a good print reproduction. If your image is completely unsuitable for printing we will let you know before we accept your order. No refunds will be given where mistakes exist in the original images or documents supplied to us (eg. incorrect spellings), where the original images supplied to us are of poor quality, or where customers have not checked that the items ordered are what is required (eg. business card weights).
Colour Matching:
All files for printing on paper products should be sent to us saved in CMYK format for the best results. If your image is sent in RGB format there may be some difference in the printed colours.
Files for dye-sublimation printing, eg. mugs and mouse mats, should be sent in RGB format.
You should be aware that the colour you see on your monitor may not be the ‘true’ colour of the image.
Mugs, mouse mats and other printed gifts are printed using a dye sublimation process which involves heating to high temperatures, this can cause alteration of some colours so exact colour matching should not be expected. If colour matching is important (eg. company logos) you will need to send a printed copy to us by post so that we can match your colours as closely as possible. (The industry standard for colour mataching is an 85% match).
Please note that artwork colours displayed on our website will be dependent on your own monitor display settings and may not be an accurate representation of the printed colours.
Copyright:
If you are not the legal owner of the photo, design, artwork or logo which you would like printed then you must ensure that you have the copyright holder’s permission or an appropriate licence to use the material. This is a legal requirement. AlgolOnline takes no responsibility for any damages arising from any illegal use of copyrighted images. We reserve the right to ask for proof of copyright ownership on any image before printing.
WEBSITE DESIGN:
Our aim is to create low cost, high quality websites to our clients’ specifications.
We will discuss the design with the client and produce a draft design uploaded to our ‘test’ website, for the client’s approval and comments. If the client is satisfied with the design we will produce finished pages. If changes to the design are required we will carry out the alterations and produce a revised draft. We will produce a total of two designs for no additional charge. It is in the interest of our clients to be as specific as possible about their requirements and expectations for the site to avoid wasting time on unwanted designs.
We will quote for the client’s requested website in advance where possible. However, additions to the website during design may incur extra charges. Please see our Price Guide for details.
Prices are quoted based on our standard rate and the amount of work involved.
We reserve the right to refuse to design or host any site we believe to have illegal or offensive content.
Clients should ensure they own any material used on their website, or have permission or an appropriate licence to use the material.
WEBSITE HOSTING:
Our sites are hosted in the UK. All sites are backed up weekly on the server and are backed up on disk after any updates.
We will notify our clients if we are expecting any maintenance work or network outage which would affect website access.
Hosting is charged for a minimum period of one year and is non-refundable.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT:
We are only able to supply technical support for websites which are designed and hosted by AlgolOnline.
We do not currently provide training or support for clients who wish to service their own websites. If a client wishes to update their site themselves they must do so on their own responsibility. In the event of problems arising from a client’s own updates, we will be able to restore our last backup, but may not be able to restore the client’s recent updates.
Please note we are not an Internet Service Provider and are not in any way responsible for a client’s internet connection, including the client’s ability to access their website or email.
UPDATES & MAINTENANCE:
Our yearly hosting charge includes minor website updates, eg. changes to general text, information on booking conditions, prices, availability etc.. More complex updates, eg. redesigns, addition of new images, may incur an extra charge which will be quoted as required. New pages will be charged at the rate shown on our Price Guide.
When requesting an update please bear in mind that we may not be able to update your site immediately but we will book the work into our next available slot. If you have a deadline for the updates please ensure that you give us the new material at least one week in advance.
All websites are regularly checked to ensure the site is functioning properly.
DOMAIN NAMES AND EMAIL:
Websites which are hosted with us include a free .co.uk domain name of the client’s choice (subject to availability) and up to five email addresses at the domain. Domain names are free for the first year and then renewable for each following yearly period. Other domain extensions may carry an extra charge.
Email can be set up as webmail, accessible from any computer, or set up by the client using the client’s own software. In the event of a fault with a client’s domain-based email or webmail we will correct this as soon as possible. Please note that if the fault does not lie with our mailserver then it is not a part of our responsibility and the client will need to investigate any problem themselves.
Algol Online is not responsible for any unsolicited email received by the client. We do not supply a client’s email address to any third party without the client’s consent.
SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION AND SUBMISSIONS:
All sites are automatically submitted to the major search engines and can also be submitted for listing in appropriate directories if required. We carry out Search Engine Optimization on all sites, however we cannot guarantee that a website will be listed or will receive a high placement from any search engine or directory.
PRICING:
Pricing details are shown on our website Price Guide for web design and hosting and individual product pages for printed items. Prices may be subject to change.
PAYMENT:
A deposit is required before any work will be carried out on the website or any domain names purchased on the customer’s behalf. (This deposit is non-returnable if a domain name has been purchased or any work has been carried out on the customer’s behalf). The remainder is payable once the website is completed to the customer’s satisfaction. Website invoices and hosting account renewal charges are due within 14 days of an invoice being issued. Invoices which remain unpaid within 7 days of a reminder notice being sent by email may result in the removal of the website and suspension of services until payment is received. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that payment reaches us in a timely manner. Interest and late payment fees as laid down under UK law may be charged on unpaid invoices.
Please note that domain registrations will not be renewed until your payment is received. If payment is not received in time you may lose your domain registration.
HOURS OF BUSINESS AND CONTACTING US:
Our normal hours of business are from 9:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. We can be contacted outside these times if necessary by email. Email messages are checked regularly during the day and in the evening. Please see our Contact Page for details of how to contact us.
We normally respond to all queries within 24 hours. We will respond to any messages left by email as soon as possible. We can be contacted by text message to report faults on customers’ websites – please note in the case of an issue with our server we may not be able to receive emails immediately.
PRIVACY & SECURITY:
All online payments are made using the PayPal secure payment system. AlgolOnline is not in possession of your credit card details at any time.
Your email and address details are only used in the processing and delivery of your order and to contact you with important information regarding your account. We do not pass these details onto anyone else without your permission.
Spam policy – AlgolOnline does not send unsolicited emails. If you receive any such email which appears to originate with us please copy the message (including headers) into our enquiry form and send it to us and we will report this to the sender’s email provider.
We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR) legislation with regards to data protection and user privacy.
LIABILITY:
AlgolOnline does not accept any liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or for any products or services purchased from this website.
OUR WEBSITE COPYRIGHTS:
And finally… please don’t steal our copy! There are at least 5 (and rising!) web design sites out there who have used our original introductory text and product descriptions almost (and now in more than one case exactly) word for word. Of course we’re flattered that you think we write so well, but we’re sure you can manage to write your own copy with just a little effort. Please remember that the textual content of this website legally belongs to AlgolOnline and copying or reproducing any part of this website is prohibited by law. Thank you.
